  • Tuition including registration fee($150 non-refundable) and any supply fee
  • Student CPR (AHA BLS) : $65

  • Payment plans available. We offer a payment plan for tuition, allowing students to divide the total cost into two or three installments.
  • The school is not Title IV approved. No federal financial aid is offered or provided.

*The tuition includes all necessary fees, including the $150 registration fee, clinical practice fee, and required materials. Students are responsible for purchasing their scrubs(Navy color) for clinical practice. The BLS certification is not included in the tuition and must be obtained separately.

 

Medical administrative assistants (also called medical office assistants or medical secretaries) are critical in keeping healthcare offices running smoothly and also play an important role in the patient experience. Tasks vary by setting, but may include:

  • Reviewing and answering practice correspondence
  • Operating computer systems to accomplish office tasks
  • Answering calls and scheduling appointments
  • Greeting patients and updating electronic medical records
  • Updating and maintaining patient and other practice-specific information
  • Coordinating operation reports such as time and attendance
  • Operating office software and equipment

DMS Training Center requires proof of the following:

  • Must be 16 years or older
  • State-issued ID card from any State, Passport, Green card or Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or GED or Graduating from high school or a GED program within 12 months
  • No Immunizations or vaccinations are required
  • Uniforms/Scrubs not required. Students should dress casually and comfortably for school.

6 Weeks course (100% Online) and students will learn:
• History and background of the medical assisting profession
• Interpersonal skills, medical ethics, and basic medical law
• Telephone techniques and skills for scheduling appointments
• Medical terminology
• Basics of insurance billing and coding
• Medical records management and management of practice finances
• Ethical and legal issues, fraud abuse, and compliance
• Office and patient communication techniques, appointment scheduling and general office duties
• Technology in the healthcare environment
• Basic terminology used in the medical office
• HIPAA review and patient bill of rights and confidentiality
• Financial and practice management
• Medical records management, confidentiality of the medical record, initiating a medical record for a new client and filing reports in the medical record
• Health insurance coverage, and billing and coding procedures
• Professional fees, billing and collecting procedures, accounting systems and credit arrangements
• Medical accounting, financial statements, cost analysis, and budgets for the medical practice
• Specimen collection, laboratory safety and federal and state regulations
• Assisting with medical emergencies

After taking the course, you will be qualified to take the certification exam (NHA CMAA).
